THE
PRAIRIE JUBILEE PROGRAM 2010-2012
Today, a rebirth of spirit is calling
us. Spirit is life itself longing for expression.
Across all traditional boundaries, spirit is renewing
our understanding of what it means to be human
and what it means to love. The philosopher, Plotinus,
spoke of the “world as love expressing itself”.
Catching this spirit of life-as-love is the call
and heart of Jubilee Associates.
JUBILEE ASSOCIATES is a leadership co-operative
in spiritual formation and spiritual direction
rooted in the Christian tradition. We are committed
to offering programs through which participants
may deepen their experience of what is means to
be human, experience transformative living and
identify their gifts for spiritual guidance.
Jubilee Associates is an integrative model of
spiritual leadership highlighting the growing
interdependence of all life forms. It began as
an ecumenical contemplative program in Vancouver,
BC in 1988. It has expanded to include programs
based in Winnipeg, MB, London, ON, and Tatamagouche
NS.
Through the Jubilee program, we are rediscovering
the ancient art of spiritual direction and companionship
for a world that is hungry for a rebirth of spirit.
PRAIRIE JUBILEE
The staff of the PRAIRIE JUBILEE is committed
to listening to the way of the spirit and embodying
its movement in daily practice. The foundation
of spirit is self-love and thus emphasis in the
program will be to know one self and allow all
forms of service to emanate from this Divine mystery
of love within.
We open to various sacred traditions. The diversity
of traditions offers us insight and understanding
for our own journey as well as deepen our appreciation
for the manifold ways the Divine touches our lives.
We tell stories of those who have influenced our
lives and shown us glimpses of God’s presence
among us. We learn the skills and methods of living
contemplatively and imaginatively in transforming
ways.
We foster a spaciousness of mind and heart. Working
together creates a transformational synergy that
allows us to expand our consciousness and travel
deeply into the areas of our lives that need our
attention.
We seek to develop an enhanced relationship to
our planet and open more fully to the mystery
of life on earth.
As adult learners, participants are expected to
take responsibility for their own learning, each
in her or his own unique way and context.
We wish to foster the love of Wisdom and the courage
to live authentically.
We ask participants to be clear with themselves
and the staff about their motivations for applying:
to welcome the possibility of new ways of thinking,
and to find the courage to engage in their own
emotional and transformative experiences.
Evaluation is based on each learner’s own
objectives and desired outcomes within the requirements
of the program and feedback from staff, peers
and supervisors.
