YEAR 2 COMPONENTS - September 15, 2013 - June 15, 2014

• Two residencies: September 19-25, 2013 (Second residency dates to be announced)
• Assigned and supplementary reading
• Three theme papers and one position paper
• Four day silent retreat
• Continue to receive regular spiritual direction
• Supervised practicum in providing spiritual direction
• Participation in a monthly home-based peer-supervision group

TRAINING IN SPIRITUAL DIRECTION/COMPANIONING

We will focus on our own soul development as it ongoing and essential if we are offering direction to others, companioning or coaching.
How do we help someone grow in spirit?
The themes of year 2 are:
1. soul development
2. the transformational process
3. practical applications for spiritual direction individual and group
4. celebrating jubilee justice, Sabbath and silence

Residency 1 September 22-29, 2011
The first part of the week focuses on soul development and leads to the art of spiritual accompaniment. Role playing and practice will highlight the second part of this residency, with supervision models as a guide to use with either supervisors and/or peer supervision groups.


Residency 2 February or March (TBA)
Deepening the first residency. There will be continued work on self and more practice in various forms of spiritual accompaniment and spiritual
leadership.
Themes:
1. Sabbath, concentrating of the rhythm of nature, following the process law of 7
2. Silence and opening to the world of spirit
3. Knowing of the heart and practical ethics, justice and healing

AT HOME COMPONENTS

1. 3 papers on the themes of soul development, the process of transformation and the art of spiritual direction
2. a final position paper
3. a 4 day silent retreat
4. ongoing monthly meeting with a spiritual director
5. offering spiritual direction to at least two people
6. monthly meeting with supervisor
7. monthly peer supervision groups
8. relationship with staff contact person
