JUBILEE ASSOCIATES: WHAT, WHO AND WHERE

To any reader of this program description, welcome: shalom and salaam! We are glad you are interested in our program, and we hope to be in touch with you about it.

The first Jubilee program began in Vancouver in 1988, followed by the beginning of the Ontario program, the affiliation of the pre-existing Atlantic program, and the forming of the Prairie program. Jubilee is an ecumenical, interfaith, embodied, justice-oriented program in spiritual formation and spiritual direction, rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition. We are committed to offering programs through which participants may deepen their experience of spirited living and identify their gifts for spiritual guidance. We know ourselves called, both personally and societally, to live lives that incarnate the love of God, self, others and the Earth.

At the 2007 annual meeting of the JA, we acknowledged that every alumna/us of the program was a "Jubilee associate," who with the staffs of the programs comprise the Jubilee Community. Since then we have called the meeting of the staff members which follows the annual con ed event the Leadership Council.
Between annual meetings, we work through a Communications Team, which involves one member from each of the four programs.
